Congo tetras grow to 3 1/2inches and a school of larger congo tetras can be placed within a cichlid tank. Yet, Congo tetras are peaceful enough for small community tank. Male fins are a little longer than the female fins, but both sexes have the diamond scaling. This is a very adaptable species and Congo tetras can handle a wide range of tropical aquarium conditions.
