Eartheaters are a group of species, most belonging to the genus geophagus that share physical characteristics – when you see an earth eater you know it’s an eartheater – and behavioral characteristics,  they eat earth and spit it. They live a long time, most are peaceful and elegant. The geophagus altifrons is similar in behavior to the surinamensis, but with more color and much rarer.
