Choosing the right GloFish for your tank
GloFish need the same care as their non-fluorescent relatives. GloFish danios, tetras and barbs are schooling fish that belong in groups of five or more; danios and tetras are happy in 10 to 20 gallons, while the more boisterous barbs do best in 20 gallons or larger. GloFish sharks are rainbow sharks, semi-aggressive bottom dwellers that should be kept one per tank in 55 gallons or more. GloFish bettas are Siamese fighting fish, so house one male per tank in at least 5 gallons.
Most GloFish thrive at 72 to 80°F in clean, well-filtered water and accept quality flake or pellet food with occasional frozen treats. Their colors show under normal lighting but truly pop under blue or actinic LEDs.

Frequently asked questions
Are GloFish good for beginners?
Yes. GloFish danios and tetras are hardy, peaceful and easy to feed, making them a great first fish for a new tank.
Do GloFish glow in the dark?
No. They fluoresce under blue or black light rather than producing their own light, so they look brightest with a blue LED in a dim room.
Can I mix different GloFish together?
Yes. Danios, tetras and barbs mix well in 20 gallons or more; keep only one GloFish shark and one male betta per tank.
