Anthias are small, vividly colored reef fish that swim constantly in open water, bringing life and motion to the upper and middle levels of a reef tank.
Social Structure
Anthias are naturally social and do best in groups with one male and several females, mimicking their natural harem structure on the reef.
Feeding
Unlike many hardier reef fish, anthias have a fast metabolism and need multiple small feedings per day of quality frozen foods to stay healthy long-term.
Tank Requirements
A mature, well-established reef tank with plenty of live rock and open swimming space suits anthias best, since they can be more sensitive to new-tank instability than hardier species like damsels.
